Ride-on Lawn Mower Lifts Reviews
1. VOUNOT Ride on Mower Jack Lift
Best Pick
Buy on Amazon.co.uk
The VOUNOT Ride on Mower Jack Lift is a telescopic mower lift made of powder coated steel in bright red. The telescopic part means that this lift contracts from its full length of 108cm down to 80cm for storage. That’s a 30% decrease and saves you space in your shed or garage.
This is a crank handle lift. The lever system makes cranking the handle easy. However, there’s a lot of manual winding involved in getting the lift up to its full height of 60cm. Note that the lowest height is 5cm. You’re advised to not crank the lift down below this as doing so might pull the rod out of its intended position.
There’s no information as to the tilt angle provided by the maximum height. But you can stop cranking at any height as there’s a safety lock for the crank to hold it in position.
The maximum weight that this lift can hold is 400kg – that’s the most of any lift in this review. And the maximum drive-on width is 97cm, so check both the weight and the width of your ride-on mower or garden tractor.
Pros
- Bright red telescopic manual lift for mowers and garden tractors.
- Adjustable length for storage.
- Max weight capacity is 400kg.
- Turn crank handle to raise mower up to 60cm from 5cm.
- Safety lock for crank.
- Max. width for drive-on: 97cm.
- Weight of lift: 8.55kg.
Cons
- Doesn’t say what width of mower this can lift.
Our recommendation
The VOUNOT Ride on Mower Jack Lift has over 1,500 ratings on Amazon, so it’s a popular purchase and further confirms my own conclusion that this is a tractor lift worth considering. Its lift height range is from 5cm through to 60cm, but there’s no information as to what the tilt angle is. This is a sturdy garden tractor lift that’s crank driven to lift up to 40kg of lawn care vehicle.
The VOUNOT Ride on Mower Jack Lift is my Best Pick in my review for its build quality, ease of use and affordability.
2. Oregon Hydraulic Clip Lift
Best Pick – Premium
Buy on Amazon.co.uk
The Oregon Clip Lift, Hydraulic, makes lifting your garden tractor or ride-on lawn mower even easier with its hydraulic system. This would without doubt be the choice I would recommend for those with a higher budget. Instead of manually cranking a handle, you just use light pressure on the foot pedal to raise the vehicle. This definitely takes less effort than all the other models in this review.
This bright red steel lift has other premium features as well. It has a straightforward roll-on, roll-off design for the vehicle. The maximum track width for the mower is 105cm, while the maximum mower width is 122cm. As long as your garden vehicle is within these dimension, and weighs less than 300kg, you’re OK.
This Clip Lift comes with a safety strap for you to secure the mower to the lift when it’s raised. There’s also a double lock system that kicks in when the lift is raised to ensure that it stays in place. This adds to the stability of using the unit.
Storing this lift is easy as it folds flat and comes with a bracket for you to hang it on the wall of your garden shed or garage, out of the way.
Pros
- Bright red hydraulic jack for ride-on lawn mowers and garden tractors
- Folds flat for easy storage.
- Roll-on, roll-off design.
- Safety strap for security.
- Double lock system when raised.
- Max weight capacity: 300kg.
- Max mower width: 122cm; max track width: 105cm.
- Weight of lift: 27kg.
Cons
- No information about how high raises the mower nor the max. angle of inclination.
Our recommendation
The Oregon Clip Lift, Hydraulic, makes it even easier to lift your ride-on mower with the use of a hydraulic systen operated by a simple foot pedal. With the roll-on, roll-off design it’s easy to load up your garden vehicle of 300kg or less. With two safety features (strap and lock), the Clip Lift is one of the most secure lifts in this review.
The Oregon Clip Lift is the Best Pick – Premium in my review. Overall if you have the budget, this is the one to invest in.
3. Arebos Lawn Tractor Lift
Buy on Amazon.co.uk
The Arebos lawn tractor lift is yet another bright red powder-coated steel lift. You raise the lift manually using the crank handle. The maximum weight of a garden mower allowed on this lift is 400kg which covers most ride-on mowers and lawn tractors.
There’s no information as to how high the lift raises your mower. However, it does tilt the vehicle up to a 45° angle. But you can stop the tilt at any point along the way to this maximum inclination. This lets you position the underside of the mower so you can comfortably access it from a seated position, especially important if the servicing is going to take a long time.
This Aerbos mower lift folds flat to help you find a storage space for it in your garage or garden shed.
Pros
- Bright red lawn tractor lifter with a crank handle.
- Lifts up to 45° of inclination.
- Folds up for storage.
- Max weight capacity: 400kg.
- Max. drive-on width: 97cm.
- Weight of lift: 9kg.
Cons
- No information on how high the lift lifts.
Our recommendation
The Arebos lawn tractor lift lifts your ride-on lawn mower up to a 45° angle, giving you plenty of room to work underneath it. You just have place the wheels of the mower on the lift, turn the crank handle a few (or a lot of) times and stop when it’s in the position that you need.
This Arebos lift is suitable for most garden vehicles.
4. Toolland QT200 Lift For Lawn Tractors
Buy on Amazon.co.uk
For a change, the Toolland QT200 lift for lawn tractors is green powder-coated steel. This is another lift that’s powered by you manually turning the crank handle. With a maximum weight capacity of 350kg, this lift handles the majority of ride-on lawn mowers and small garden tractors.
The lift height range of this model is from 12cm to 79cm. Be sure not to crank the lift down below the 12cm height, though, as this may displace the rod from its position. The maximum height gives you plenty of room to access the underneath part of the garden vehicle.
Pros
- Green ride on mower lift with a crank handle.
- Max. weight capacity: 350kg.
- Lifts to height of 12cm to 79cm.
- Lifting rack size: 106cm by 30cm.
Cons
Our recommendation
The Toolland QT200 lift for lawn tractors does its job of lifting garden vehicles that weigh 350kg or less. The lift height of 79cm gives quite a bit of room to work underneath the mower or tractor for cleaning or servicing.
5. RocwooD Ride On Lawn Mower Lift
Buy on Amazon.co.uk
The RocwooD Ride On Lawn Mower Lift is another green powder-coated steel lift for mowers and small tractors. The operator manually turns the crank handle to raise the lift. Unfortunately, I was unable to track down how high the lift raises the vehicle or what the angle of tilt is. But it can handle vehicles up to 400kg in weight.
Pros
- Green powder coated steel lift operated by a manual crank handle.
- Max. weight capacity is 400kg.
- Max drive-on width is 98cm.
- Lift width: 115cm.
Cons
- No information on how high lift lifts or tilt angle.
Our recommendation
Despite the lack of information, the RocwooD Ride On Lawn Mower Lift receives a high rating on the sales website. I like that it lifts a maximum of 400kg, which covers most garden lawn vehicles and some golf carts.
Buyer’s Guide for Ride-on lawn mower lifts
This Buyer’s Guide is one of the simplest ones I’ve written as there really is not much to decide between the different lifts for raising a ride-on lawn mower or garden tractor or golf cart. Here are the few elements your choice boils down to.
Hydraulic or crank system
Only one of the models I review is powered by a hydraulic system. With the Oregon Clip Lift you use a foot pedal to hydraulically raise the mower on the lift. This is my Best Pick – Premium choice.
The other lifts are all operated by hand-turned crank. Just turn the handle around a number of times (in some cases, many times) to raise the lift to the height you want.
Width / drive-on width of the lift
You need to be able to get your lawn mower etc. on to the lift. This is where you need to compare the distance between the rear tyres of the mower to the drive-on width of the lift. Sounds easy, but it’s not that straightforward.
Not all the sales blurbs for the lifts give you this information. And even the manufacturers’ websites ( and product manuals when we found them) don’t always have this data. Don’t go by the photos on the sales sites as some online reviewers report that the tractors or mowers in those images don’t always fit on to the lift.
Max weight capacity
This information is easier to find. The maximum weight that these lifts can holds ranges from 300kg to 40kg, depending on the model you choose. You just need to find out how heavy your mower/tractor/golf cart is.
Raised height/angle of inclination
This information is sometimes difficult to come by.
It may come in the form of the height that the lift goes to. For example, the Toolland QT200 lifts one side of the vehicle to a height of 79cm. You need to do some geometry to figure out at what angle of inclination the vehicle will be sitting at. That angle gives you some idea of how much room underneath it you have to operate it.
Sometimes, the data is in the form of the angle of inclination. If you want to know how far off the ground the back wheel of your lawn mower will be, then I’m afraid that that’s more geometry to do.
Even my Best Pick – Premium doesn’t give this information at all.
Safety
We’re keen on the safety of all garden and garage tools. My Best Pick – Premium is the only model that comes with a safety strap to secure the mower to the lift. It also has a double locking mechanism to hold the lift at the incline you select. Some online reviewers talk about the safety measures they’ve put in place themselves to increase the security of their mowers on the other lifts. Make sure that your mower is safe and secure before you work on its underside.
Final Conclusion
A ride-on lawn mower lift saves you from having to put your mower up on blocks or on a car ramp in order to clean and service its underside. Unless you buy a hydraulic model, there is some manual labour involved in turning the crank to raise the mower. But once it’s in its inclined position, you can operate on your mower from a comfortable seated position.
The Best Pick is the VOUNOT Ride on Mower Jack Lift. This is a standard hand crank model that lifts up to 400kg of garden lawn vehicle.
The Oregon Clip Lift is my Best Pick – premium. This lift operates by a hydraulic system and has several safety features that we like.
